Akane is a very strong-minded, and sometimes violent, girl. She can become angry and jealous, and is apt to hit Ranma a lot whenever this happens. But even though she does get angry, she does have a feminine side to her. She, having been raised in a family without a mother figure, has a hard time trying to sort out her feelings for Ranma. There many times when Akane is on the verge of telling Ranma what she really thinks. But it's almost always interrupted with something different every time. The rest of the time, she firmly denies any feelings for Ranma. Another problem without having a mother, is that she grew up to be a tomboy. Obviously a person who thinks of herself more than others at times. She isn't however, an evil person with malicious intent, merely someone out to make a profit, in one way or another, off of everything. Her success in these dealings obviously shows that she may be smarter than some people may give her credit for. Definitely not a martial artist like Ranma, Akane and company, Nabiki effectively compensates with her business intelligence and perception skills.
