Akane is a very strong-minded, and sometimes violent, girl. She can become angry and jealous, and is apt to hit Ranma a lot whenever this happens. But even though she does get angry, she does have a feminine side to her. She, having been raised in a family without a mother figure, has a hard time trying to sort out her feelings for Ranma. There many times when Akane is on the verge of telling Ranma what she really thinks. But it's almost always interrupted with something different every time. The rest of the time, she firmly denies any feelings for Ranma. Another problem without having a mother, is that she grew up to be a tomboy. She can't cook, she hates men, she fights all day, and her manners aren't spectacular, but that is part of what makes this series funny. In her own way, Akane could be seen as having male and female sides to herself mentally, as Ranma does physically.

Nabiki always has a biting sarcasm or a realistic, straight-forward attitude about her that she employs in almost every situation that she observes in the Tendo dojo. Obviously a person who thinks of herself more than others at times. She isn't however, an evil person with malicious intent, merely someone out to make a profit, in one way or another, off of everything. Her success in these dealings obviously shows that she may be smarter than some people may give her credit for. Definitely not a martial artist like Ranma, Akane and company, Nabiki effectively compensates with her business intelligence and perception skills.











Kasumi Tendo

Since Mrs. Tendo died when she was small, Kasumi took up feminine responsibility in the dojo. She cooks, cleans, and is busy all the time. She never complains about the amount of work that she has to do, or the fact that other than cooking and cleaning, she has time for very little else. When she does have free time, she likes to go borrow a book from her dear friend, Dr. Tofu. Unknown to her, Dr. Tofu has a serious crush on her.

Kasumi is always very calm and often takes care of the bumps and bruises Akane and Ranma suffer. She is very kind and nurturing, but as Soun has said, she is often taken for granted by the family that she so lovingly cares for.





Soun Tendo

Soun is somewhat over-emotional and cries often. He cares about the future of his children, and wishes the best for them, which consequently leads to him getting involved when his daughters wish he wouldn't. A good example of this would be he and Genma deciding to engage Ranma and Akane whether they liked it or not.

Soun is a very talented martial artist, but shows many of the same characteristics and Genma, laziness and especially cowardice. He was trained by Happosai alongside Genma, and the two have been close friends ever since. Soun has a deep respect for his future son-in-law, and knows he will make an excellent husband for his daughter.
